Yesssssssss! First off can I just say that I legit had to pause this video every few seconds because of the overload of Exotic Swag! These twelve boys have displayed a whole new personality. And here I was thinking Wolf was amazing, Growl definitely topped it.
The song itself says Swag, it forms a style that I haven't seen in Kpop in a long time! Its almost like a mixture of a spunky DBSK song with a dose of TLC at points. Ugh, and might I say that this song is PERFECT for D.O. and Luhan's voice. Don't get me wrong, all the guys pull the song off amazingly, but for some reason it just flows when they sing.
What really impressed me, and I mean really really, is that the whole Music Video is one continuous shot. Which, considering the dance moves and group changes, says a lot about how much they've practiced. Just think, if one person messes up they have to start all the way from the beginning. Also they seem to be wearing modified versions of their uniforms from the Drama Version.
Also Growl is most likely the reason the Continuation of the Drama MV wasn't released yet. This song will prolly make an appearance in the video, and we shall finally see what happens.
Just like every Exotic in this Fandom I squealed at the news that SM released the Drama Version of Wolf!
The beginning shows Luhan and Kris crossing paths. Kris is leaving, for whatever reason, and it's shown that they both have their MAMA symbols. I've re-watched the beginning so many times. What I interpreted was that Kris was leaving, I think we all noticed this though. But I feel that maybe Kris was a Lone Wolf, and for a reason that I can't figure out, he has to leave. Luhan looks at him in a questioning manner, and Kris places his hand on his shoulder. The question is: Is Kris entrusting or ensuring Luhan with something. The song in the background is Black Pearl, which pretty much emphasizes that Luhan has a new journey ahead of him.
In the next scene we see the girl moon gazing. I have seen many people say that it's unrealistic to see the moon in the daylight. Well I'd like to argue against that. There have been many times that the moon viewable during the day, yes it's faintly visible, but it's possible. Just wanted to point that out.
Well anyways, Luhan is being chased by bunch of masked thugs. People also say that it's unrealistic that he's doing all these flips and parkour. I feel that this helps emphasizes that Luhan is a supernatural being. Actually it looks as though he is taunting them. He saves the girl prolly just because he is a good guy. But it seems he got more than he bargained for by doing so. It looks as though he made some sort of connection with her.
Luhan is a new student at the girl's school and what do ya know, he sees her again! Luhan then befriends the boys of Exo and they play some Soccer! What a surprise, right? Luhan then shows them some moves, fighting moves. Strangely the whole time the girl tags along, and she seems pretty close to the guys. Exo makes sure she escorted to the bus safely and are in the process of leaving when they are stopped by the gang of thugs from earlier.
If there's one thing to know about SM, its that some of those guys will be debuting in years to come.
One question I have is why don't they fight right then and there? And also is it just a coincidence that D.O is always near Luhan? D.O sits behind him in class, he's part of the group hug in Soccer, Luhan shows him some fighting moves, and he joins Luhan's side when Luhan is confronted by the gang.
The guys enter an old rustic room and they oddly look eager to fight! This got me thinking:
I have watched many Asian films and in the school setting. gangs are popular. But what baffles me is that groups of guys fight each other and then the next day they act as if nothing happened. Is fighting just an activity? I dunno.
In the midst of the fight Luhan can see that Exo isn't doing too well, so Luhan Let's Out The Beast! Luhan looses control and D.O tries to settle him. Well this results in Luhan thrashing at D.O, and he goes flying into a pile of boxes and beams. Its funny how at this point the other gang has left the building. Kai's pretty ticked and Chen's far past enraged. If weren't for Chanyeol and Lay, we'd have a whole other fight going on.
Luhan is left confused and prolly a bit scared of himself. Of course to make him feel like more of a jerk, the girl shows up. "Who are you? What are you?" she asks. She runs away crying and Luhan is left to sulk. AND US EXOTICS ARE LEFT WONDERING WHAT'LL HAPPEN NEXT BECAUSE
To Be Continued...
Overall I loved the MV, then again the guys could be watching paint dry and I'd still be amused. Cant wait for the next part!
What better gift can an Exotic recive than that of waking up to Exo's Comeback just as it's uploaded!? Ive had the honor of waking up to my favorite 12 singing/dancing aliens. This video shows just how much they've matured and broadend their talents. This was definatley worth the wait.
The tree structure they made in the beginning was amazing, especially with the beastly floor scratching. All the jumping/leaping and intricate moves boost the power behind their comeback. Also the fact that all the members sing in both versions reminds us that they are one! A lot of fans say that Kai's cornrows aren't very appealing. Id have to disagree, unique hair styles come with the job when you're a k-pop idol. I think it makes him look semi native in some scenes, he can really pull it off!
Ill admit I've stumbled upon the leaked version all those months ago, and I actually liked it. But the release of the official version made me fall in love with the song. This song is equally proportioned in singing, rapping, and unique music twists. The harmonizing was lovely! I admire the fact that there isn't any seductive moves purposely put in the dance, like almost any other male dance. Their moves are almost like interpret dance.
The CG wolves rising from the human formed caves was soooo cool! And might I say Suho Gramps has turned into one sexy leader, all the members have a new found swag! Almost all the guys are wear a sleeveless shirt at some point in the video. Oh, and a few have their nails painted, which I feel adds to the concept since most wolves have dark claws, no?
Well I have nothing but support for these boys, I've been with them since the rumours of M1 and M2. I see such great potential with them and I can only hope they stay together in years to come. EXO Fighting! We are one!
So last night my older sister and I attended the movies to see The Great Gatsby. I was sooooo stoked to see it ever since the night I saw the first trailer while reading the first chapter of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel. The book itself creaked its way into my liking as more understandable events played out. The beginning of the movie, the first ten minutes or so, was truly fast paced. Almost over whelming. I don't ever recall Nick being in a sanitarium, but this could easily become the movie writer's way of making Nick sound less crazy. It added an extra spark to the movie and the relationship I've concluded between Gatsby and Nick. It truly emphasized the point that Nick ultimately adored Gatsby and that they were very close friends.
There were little things that seemed a bit off as far as comparing it to the book. I finally started to criticize the movie when Meyer Wolfshiem appeared. I was surprised to see him portrayed by a well-known Indian actor, but that's not what got me. Nick observes his Tie Pin, a human molar, and asks Gatsby if Wolfsheim is an Actor. The signature look of Wolfshiem is his molar cuff links, it gave him that eerie questionable gangster status. There was no reason, as far as I could tell, as to why they would change this feature. Another issue was Klipspringer, a mighty curious looking fellow if I might add, was present before I expected. His piano skills are rusty, It shows just how lost innocent talents have become due to his present business. The movie depicted him as an energetic man, in love with his music. I would have absolutely loved to have heard him perform "A'int We Got Fun" like the book. That was another problem I had, Im not a big fan of the music strung through the film, I didn't completely detest it but I would have rather heard some good 'ol Jazz Age music!
The thing that really got me, almost made me stand and protest, was that Mr. Gatz (Gatsby's Father) didn't make an appearance in the movie. The whole significance of the "Hop Along Cassidy" book was missing in the events. I felt as though it was a very meaningful aspect of Gatsby. The whole ending was truly dramatized to the point where I was in tears, I mean I was tearing up at the end of the book too! Id have loved to of seen the funeral played out, give him his final scene. But like my sister said, "Gatsby died happy. He died thinking Daisy was calling him, the one thing he wanted." Which was true, that made me feel a bit happier. The ending with Nick's final words had me silently sobbing! It emphasized just how unfair Gatsby's end was... Old Sport.
